Steph Curry makes history as Warriors level NBA Finals with win at TD Garden
Series to return to San Francisco for Game 5
Steph Curry became the first man to lead all scorers in the first four games of an NBA Finals series since Michael Jordan did it for the Chicago Bulls in 1998 as he led the Golden State Warriors to a 107-97 win over the Boston Celtics in Game 4 of the series in Boston.
Coming off the back of a win at the TD Garden in Game 3, the Boston Celtics looked to extend their advantage over the Warriors with another win in Game 4.
The Boston Celtics started the match strongly and ended the first quarter in possession of a 28-27 lead over the Warriors. Both sides traded blows in the second quarter, with the Celtics eventually ending the first half with a 54-49 lead over the Warriors. Steph Curry and Jayson Tatum were the top two scorers with 19 and 16 points, respectively.
The Golden State Warriors claimed their now-customary third quarter lead by 30 points to 24 points to head into the fourth quarter in possession of a one point lead. They managed to extend their lead as the fourth quarter ended 28-19 in their favour, ensuring that they claimed a 107-97 win to level the series at 2-2.
Curry led the scoring for the Warriors with 43 points and 10 rebounds, Andrew Wiggins had 17 points and 16 rebounds, and Klay Thompson finished with 18 points.
Tatum scored 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Celtics, Jaylen Brown scored 21 points and Marcus Smart finished with 18 points for the Celtics, who will now head to San Francisco for Game 5 of the series.
