Stephen Curry Goes 8-for-8 as Warriors Beat Nuggets
Stephen Curry could not miss as the Golden State Warriors picked up a convincing 134-114 road win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.
The Warriors star finished with 24 points, making all eight of his attempts from the field. He was equally sharp from beyond the arc, knocking down all three of his three-point attempts while also converting five free throws without a miss.
Curry saved his best stretch for the third quarter, scoring 17 points to help Golden State turn a close contest into a comfortable lead. The Warriors went into halftime up 60-56 before pulling away in the third, outscoring Denver 40-28.
Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg also had a night to remember, recording a career-high 31 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. His performance gave Golden State another major offensive threat alongside Curry.
Denver struggled to keep pace despite contributions from its leading players. Nikola Jokic finished with 19 points and 11 assists, while DeMar DeRozan added 21 points. Jamal Murray also scored 19, but the Nuggets could not stop the Warriors from building their advantage.
The win gives Golden State an important boost early in the season, with Curry’s flawless shooting and Lendeborg’s breakout performance offering plenty of encouragement.
