England qualified for the Round of 16 at Euro 2020 as group D winners after they defeated the Czech Republic 1-0 at Wembley in their final group game to confirm their passage. Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling was the match-winner once again, like in their opening game, when he slotted home following Jack Grealish’s pass after just 10 minutes. England’s result confirmed them as winners of their group with 7 points from 9. It was also the first time in English national team history that they have kept three clean sheets in the group stage of the Euros. England will face one of Germany, Portugal or France in the next round.
Croatia booked their place in the round of 16 of Euro 2020 after they picked up a deserved 3-1 Wii over Scotland in their final group game. Nikola Vlasic opened the scoring for Croatia, before Callum MacGregor equalised for the Scots. Luka Modric scored a beauty with the outside of his foot before Ivan Perisic found the net for the second time as the game ended 3-1. Croatia finished their group campaign on four points to end up in second place ahead of Czech Republic who finished third on four points.
