Sunday Oliseh calls Ademola Lookman a ‘Great Player’

Nigerian football legend Sunday Oliseh has praised Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman, describing him as a great player.

Lookman has become one of the most recognised forwards in the world after his impressive performances for Atalanta. He played a key role in helping the club win their first-ever European title by claiming the Europa League. Lookman’s hat-trick in the final was decisive, earning him a nomination for the Ballon d’Or, where he ranked 14th.

In an interview with News Central TV, Oliseh highlighted the qualities that make Lookman special.

“Ademola Lookman is a great player because of how he performs in his position. He doesn’t just deliver at an average level; he does it at a very high standard—7.5 or 8 out of 10,” Oliseh said.

“He has pace, tenacity, and unpredictability. He knows how to give width, look for forward moves, and his ball control is excellent. He’s quick on his feet, can trick defenders, and has great finishing ability.”

Oliseh added, “What makes him great is how decisive he was in the Europa League final. He didn’t just play; he helped his team win. That’s the mark of a great player.”
