Super Eagles Call-Up Akinsanmiro Reveals How He Learnt Barbing During Football Break

New Super Eagles call-up Ebenezer Akinsanmiro has shared an inspiring story of resilience, revealing that he once stepped away from football for several years to learn barbing as a means of survival.
The 21-year-old midfielder spoke about his journey during an interview with the Super Eagles media team, explaining how life challenges forced him to focus on learning a trade while his football career was on hold.
Akinsanmiro said his passion for football was inspired by his family, especially his father and brothers, who were all footballers and played a major role in shaping his early interest in the game.
“Well, daddy inspired me a lot, he was once a footballer, and my two brothers too. They were footballers too. I took a lot of interest in the game while watching them play,” he told the Super Eagles media.
Despite his love for football, Akinsanmiro revealed that there was a time he had to pause his football dreams and learn a skill that could support him financially.
“Then, there was a time I took a break from football to learn barbing. I’m a professional barber too. I must thank my father and brothers for their support.”
He explained that learning barbing helped him stay focused and disciplined during a difficult period, while also giving him something to fall back on. Now back on the football stage with a Super Eagles call-up, Akinsanmiro’s story highlights the importance of patience, hard work and family support.
