Super Eagles Camp: Francis Uzoho Is the First Player In Camp as Nigeria Begins Preparations for 2025 AFCON

Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has become the first player to arrive in the Super Eagles’ camp ahead of Nigeria’s preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
According to Bold Sports, the Super Eagles’ training camp is located at the Renaissance Hotels in Cairo, Egypt. The team will play a friendly match against Egypt on December 16 as their final preparation game before the tournament, which runs from December 21 to January 18.
The Super Eagles’ camp officially opened on Sunday, December 14, with players expected to arrive after completing their club duties over the weekend. Uzoho arrived early, reporting to camp at about 2:00 a.m. on Sunday.
All members of the coaching crew and backroom staff are already in Egypt and are on ground to receive the players as they report to camp.
Uzoho’s last appearance for his Cypriot club, Omonia Nicosia, came on Thursday, when he kept a clean sheet in their 1-0 win over Rapid Wien in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Omonia will next face AEK Larnaca on Monday night.
Although Uzoho is not the first-choice goalkeeper for Omonia’s domestic league matches, he is the preferred option for their European games under the club’s rotation policy.
Other Super Eagles players expected to arrive early on Sunday include Chidozie Awaziem and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, who both featured for their clubs on Friday.
