Super Eagles flying high across Europe

Iheanacho, Osimhen, Nwankwo, Umar all register for their clubs

With Nigeria facing crunch AFCON 2022 qualifiers at the end of March, a number of Super Eagles have taken flight for their respective clubs in Europe as the dates of the matches draw closer.

Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has scored in consecutive Premier League games for his side to take his tally for the season to 7 goals for his club. He scored a delightful chip at the weekend against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Simy Nwankwo scored a brace for Crotone as they ran out 4-2 winners against Torino in the Serie A on Sunday. His two goals have now taken him up to 10 goals in the Italian Serie A this season in 26 appearances.

Napoli’s record signing and Africa’s most expensive player, Victor Osimhen scored his third goal for Napoli with a brilliant mix of control, pace, power, composure and finishing as his side won 3-1 against Bologna in the Italian Serie A. Osimhen, whose season has been largely disrupted by a number of factors has now found the net 3 times in 11 outings for Napoli.

Paul Onuachu scored his 25th goal in just 29 Belgian Jupiler League matches this season as his side, KRC Genk defeated Cercle Brugge 2-0 in their league match.

Sadiq Umar continued his good form for Almeria as he scored the only goal in his side’s 1-0 win over Girona. Sadiq has now scored 13 times for his side in La Liga 2, the second tier Spanish league.

The form of these players surely now has coach Gernot Rohr scratching his head with a positive selection headache as he has to pick from these strikers for his squad to face Benin Republic and Lesotho.
