Super Eagles stars gather in Marrakech for friendly matches
Super Eagles of Nigeria players have arrived in Marrakech, Morocco, ahead of upcoming friendly matches against Mali and Ghana. The team, consisting of ten players, has already joined the camp in Marrakech, as reported earlier today.
The news was confirmed through the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s official Twitter account, announcing the commencement of the team’s first training session under the guidance of their interim head coach, Finidi George.
Among the players present in the camp are Cyriel Dessers, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Moses Simon, Nathan Tella, Jamilu Collins, Bruno Onyemaechi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Stanley Nwabali. Unfortunately, Victor Osimhen and Tyrone Ebuehi will miss out on the matches due to injuries.
Moreover, more players including Ademola Lookman, Sadiq Umar, Taiwo Awiniyi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Frank Onyeka, Wilfred Ndidi, Alhassan Yusuf, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Francis Uzoho, Olorunleke Ojo, Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem, and Benjamin Tianimu are expected to join soon.
These friendly matches against Mali and Ghana are scheduled for March 22 and 26, respectively. The team sees these matches as crucial preparation for their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying match against South Africa in June 2026.
