Super Eagles Target Another Friendly Win Against Jordan

Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles, will look to continue their fine form when they face Jordan in an international friendly match in Antalya, Turkey, on Tuesday.
Head coach Eric Chelle is upbeat about his team’s chances after their 2-1 victory over Iran national football team last Friday. Goals from Moses Simon and Akor Adams secured the win in a lively encounter.
Despite some changes in the squad, Chelle remains confident. Defenders Semi Ajayi and Bruno Onyemaechi have both left camp, but the coach is focused on getting the best out of the 21 players still available. The team held another training session on Monday as preparations continued.
Jordan, also known as Al-Nashama, come into the game in strong form. The Asian side, who are preparing for the FIFA World Cup, have improved greatly in recent years. Though currently ranked 64th in the world, they have lost only one of their last five matches, a narrow defeat to Morocco national football team.
They have also recorded impressive wins over Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Egypt, and played out a 2-2 draw with Costa Rica in their last outing.
Chelle is expected to make some adjustments to his lineup. Igoh Ogbu will need a new partner in central defence, while Zaidu Sanusi is likely to step in at left-back. Bright Osayi-Samuel is set to continue on the right side of defence.
In midfield, Alex Iwobi is closing in on his 100th international appearance and is expected to play alongside captain Wilfred Ndidi. One of Frank Onyeka, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru or Raphael Onyedika could complete the trio.
Up front, Simon is likely to lead the attack again, with support expected from Samuel Chukwueze, Adams or Ademola Lookman. Other attacking options include Paul Onuachu, Chidera Ejuke, as well as newcomers Philip Otele and Collins Yira Sor.
The Super Eagles are unbeaten in regulation time in their last five matches, recording wins over Algeria, Mozambique and Iran, as well as a penalty shootout victory against Egypt.
Historically, Nigeria and Jordan have faced each other twice, with both sides recording one win each.
Meanwhile, new invitee Emmanuel Oluwasegun Fernandez has expressed his excitement at joining the national team. The defender said he was surprised but grateful for the opportunity, adding that playing for Nigeria is a dream come true.
The Rangers player also reflected on his journey, noting his transition from midfield to defence and his growth into European football, including his experience in continental competitions.
As the match approaches, the Super Eagles will be aiming to build on their recent momentum and secure another positive result.
