Super Eagles to Learn CHAN Opponents on January 15th
The Home-based Super Eagles will find out who they will face in the group stage of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) on January 15th. The draw ceremony will take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Center in Nairobi, Kenya.
Nigeria qualified for the tournament after beating Ghana 3-1 on aggregate, marking their return to the competition after six years. The Super Eagles will start preparing with a training camp in Ikenne, Ogun State, beginning Monday. Head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has called up 26 players for the camp.
The CHAN tournament, which features players from their local leagues, will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The tournament will run from February 1st to 28th.
The 18 teams that will compete include hosts Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, as well as Nigeria, Morocco, Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Niger Republic, Congo, Sudan, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Angola, and Madagascar.
