‘Super Falcons can beat Japan’ – NFF President
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau has expressed confidence that the Super Falcons can turn things around in their final group-stage match against Japan.
Speaking to SportsVillage after Nigeria lost to Spain, Gusau reflected on the missed opportunities in their recent 1-0 loss to Spain.
“We created a lot of chances,” Gusau said, noting that the team had the potential to challenge the world champions more effectively. “First of all, I must say I am proud of the girls. I am sure there will be marked improvement in their next match against Japan on Wednesday.”
Gusau praised the team’s effort against Spain and remained optimistic about their chances in the upcoming game.
He added: ” I say that I am pleased with the girls because I know that it is not easy to play with the world champions. We created our chances. I know that the end has not come yet. We can remedy the situation on Wednesday,” he added.
