Taiwo Awoniyi Could Leave Nottingham Forest in January
Taiwo Awoniyi, a Super Eagles striker at Nottingham Forest, may leave the club this month if the right offer comes in.
The 27-year-old has only started two Premier League games this season due to injuries, which have pushed him down the team’s lineup. Meanwhile, Chris Wood has taken over as the main striker, scoring 11 goals in 18 games.
With Awoniyi not getting much playing time, Forest is open to offers for him. They would sell him if they find a good replacement, as reported by Mail Online.
Awoniyi joined Forest from Union Berlin in 2022 for a club-record fee of £17 million. Despite injury problems, he scored 17 goals in his first two seasons. He still has 30 months left on his contract.
Forest is reportedly interested in Brazilian striker Yuri Alberto, who plays for Corinthians. Alberto has scored 57 goals in 148 matches but is also being targeted by Newcastle United.
It’s unlikely Awoniyi will leave this winter, but it’s still unclear whether he wants to move or who might make an offer.
