Talks between Napoli and PSG over Victor Osimhen transfer hit a stalemate

Negotiations between Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) over the transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen have reached an impasse, raising concerns that the deal might collapse.
PSG has shown strong interest in acquiring the 25-year-old forward, particularly after Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid on a free transfer. Roberto Calenda, Osimhen’s agent, traveled to Paris to facilitate the negotiations.

A crucial call involving Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis, PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, and sporting directors Giovanni Manna and Luis Campos took place on Monday afternoon.

Despite these efforts, reports from Calciomercato.com and Fabrizio Romano indicate that the discussions failed to make any significant progress.

PSG has been reluctant to activate Osimhen’s €130 million release clause. In response, Napoli suggested including Kang-In Lee as part of the deal, but PSG quickly rejected this proposal.

PSG then countered by offering Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele in the exchange, an idea that Napoli dismissed.

The significant gap between the two clubs’ positions now poses a serious threat to the potential transfer, leaving Osimhen’s future at Napoli uncertain for the time being.
