Tanzania president John Pombe offers land reward to Emmanuel Amunike and Taifa Stars after AFCON Qualification

Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli has rewarded Emmanuel Amunike and Taifa Stars with pieces of land each following their historic qualification for the 2019 Afcon.

Stars made the cut for the first time in 39 years after thumping neighbours Uganda Cranes 3-0 in their final Group L qualifying game on Sunday at the Uhuru Stadium, Dar.

“I have been touched by this team for reaching the Afcon finals and have decided to reward each one of them with pieces of land to build houses,” Goal quoted the head of state.

Emmanuel Amunike led the Taifa Stars to their first ever AFCON finals since 1980.
