Taye Taiwo inducted into Olympique Marseille Hall of Fame
Former Super Eagles left-back Taye Taiwo has been honoured by French Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille after being inducted into the club’s hall of fame.
The Nigerian defender, who played for Marseille from 2005 to 2011, was instrumental in the club’s success during his six-year spell. He made a strong impact, scoring 25 goals and providing 23 assists in 271 appearances.
Regarded as one of Nigeria’s finest left-backs, Taiwo earned 54 international caps between 2004 and 2011, scoring five goals. At club level, he had an impressive career, playing for top European sides like AC Milan and Queens Park Rangers.
Taiwo retired in 2019 and has since settled in France. His induction into Marseille’s hall of fame is a recognition of his contributions to the club’s history.
