Polish tennis journalist Damian Kust has died at the age of 26 following a three-month battle with a rare autoimmune disease.
Kust’s family confirmed the news in a post shared on his social media account(Twitter), writing: “We are the parents of Damian. Today, our best son passed away. Thank you all for your support.”
Known for his detailed coverage of the ATP Challenger Tour, qualifiers, and junior players, Kust built a reputation for spotlighting parts of the tennis world that often go unnoticed.
He wrote for Tenis by Dawid and regularly appeared on tennis podcasts, including collaborations with Cracked Racquets.
Kust had been hospitalized since early October 2025 after being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition that severely damaged his liver. During that period, he underwent multiple surgeries, including two liver transplants. Despite the procedures, his condition did not improve.
Tributes have poured in from across the tennis community. Journalist José Morgado described him as one of the most passionate tennis experts he had met, while others highlighted Kust’s sharp analysis, honesty, and kindness.
At just 26, Damian Kust had already become a respected voice within tennis media. His work and the impact he made within the tennis community will always be remembered.
