Terem Moffi bags brace, assist in Nice 0-3 win over Monaco
Nigerian striker Terem Moffi bagged a brace and one assist to help OGC Nice to a 0-3 win over Monaco in the French Ligue One on Sunday evening.
His first goals since joining Nice on loan from Lorient in January, Moffi was all nice to inspire an emphatic victory over Monaco.
For the first goal, Dante sent a long ball over the top for Moffi to comfortably finish off his first OGC Nice goal in the 8th minute.
Following poor communication between the Monaco defenders, Moffi doubled his and his side’s tally with a carbon copy of the first goal in the 25th minute.
This time, Khéphren Thuram played a long ball forward for the Nigerian forward to score.
Nice were struck with an Injury blow to Aaron Ramsey in the 35th minute. The former Arsenal man made way for Pablo Rosario but his withdrawal was not significant with Thuram pulling the strings in midfield.
Thuram will go on to score the third goal of the game in the 43rd minute. The French Midfielder won the ball around the half-way line and found Terem Moffi. The Super Eagle then cut back to him to steer home for 0-3.
3rd placed Monaco did mount pressure in the second half but Nice held on to secure maximum points at the Stade Louis.
Moffi’s brace for les Aiglons adds to his 12 goals at FC Lorient in the first half of the current campaign.
Relief for OGC Nice who fought off competition from Marseille and West Ham to take Moffi on loan in January with an obligation to buy for €30 million at the end of the season.
He becomes the first player to score two goals or more at Monaco since Mario Balotelli bagged a brace in a 2-2 draw at the Stade Louis II back in January 2018.
