‘Thank you for making Nigeria Proud’ – President Tinubu sends message to Lookman, Nnadozie and Super Falcons after CAF Award wins
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman for winning the 2024 CAF Men’s African Footballer of the Year. He also praised Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie for winning the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award and the Super Falcons for being named the Women’s National Team of the Year.
The awards were announced on Monday night at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco.
In a statement from his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the athletes. He called them great representatives of Nigeria, showing their talent and bringing pride to the country.
The president said, “This recognition by Africa’s top football authority will inspire other young athletes to keep chasing their dreams. Their determination and discipline reflect our country’s goals of building a better Nigeria where everyone can succeed.”
He added, “These athletes show the best of Nigeria. They prove that no one should ever doubt us. I am very proud of them.”
“Thank you for making Nigeria proud and representing us well, both in Nigeria and abroad. I believe you will win even more in the future,” President Tinubu said.
