Thiago Motta appointed as Juventus head coach

Italian Serie A giants, Juventus Football Club have officially named Thiago Motta as their new head coach, following the departure of Massimiliano Allegri.

The 41-year-old former Bologna manager has signed a three-year contract, committing to the club until the summer of 2027.

The announcement was made on Wednesday evening, with Juventus expressing their excitement on their website: “Juventus Football Club is delighted to announce Thiago Motta as the new First Team head coach.”

Thiago Motta began his coaching career with the youth team of Paris Saint-Germain in 2018, shortly after ending his playing career there. His managerial career in Italian football commenced at Genoa in 2019, before he took on head coaching roles at Spezia and Bologna.

Motta’s most notable achievement came last season when he led Bologna to a historic Champions League qualification, a feat that earned him the prestigious position at Juventus.

Juventus will be looking to Motta’s tactical expertise and his ability to nurture young talent to help the club reclaim its dominance in Serie A and compete for European titles. The club, which last won the Serie A title in the 2019/2020 season, finished third last season behind Inter Milan and AC Milan.
