Thiago Silva pays tribute to Frank Lampard after winning his dream title

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has praised his former manager Frank Lampard for helping him win the one trophy he dreamt of winning.

The Brazilian defender who has won many titles in Brazil, Italy and France but without the biggest club football trophy.

Thiago Silva was on the losing side last year as Bayern Munich beat his former club PSG to claim the 2020 Champions League title.

But barely a year after suffering the agony of defeat he was on the winning side as Chelsea defeated Manchester City to claim the 2021 title.

The defender who was subbed off in the first half as Chelsea outclassed Manchester City in Portugal om Saturday expressed his profound gratitude to Frank Lampard.

It was the Chelsea legend turned coach who signed the former Milan player from Paris Saint-Germain and Thiago thanked him for helping him win the one trophy he dreamt of winning.

“I went to PSG to win this cup. Every time Paris got knocked out, it was made out to be my fault.

“Without Lampard, Silva would not be here. I am very happy, I hope he will be too.”

Thiago Silva whose one year contract expires at the end of this season is expected to renew his contract and remain at the club until 2022.
