Happy to help Chelsea as much as possible
Chelsea stand-in captain and new signing Thiago Silva is delighted to be coached by Frank Lampard.
The Brazilian in an interview revealed that he is enjoying every bit of the time he has spent with Lampard whom he called one of the best midfielders of his era.
Thiago Silva who also has faced the his manager as a player revealed their first conversations when he decided to join Chelsea on a free transfer.
“When I was about to sign with Chelsea, when I said ok, [Lampard] sent me a message with a photo of us shaking hands as captains at the Maracanã, in the friendly between Brazil and England. It was a big surprise for me, because I didn’t remember that game.
“[But] I certainly didn’t hesitate to be coached by him. I’m happy that he enjoyed my work so much, I hope to do it in the best possible way to help Chelsea. It is a source of pride to be coached by a player I played against and was one of the greatest midfielders in the world. For me it is very joyful to share locker rooms, exchange ideas, and look to help in all the ways.”
Since joining Chelsea the Blues who have had terrible issues at the back seems to have finally found a leader and balance at the back.
Silva opened his goal scoring account this weekend in Chelsea’s 4-1 win against Sheffield United. He has also helped Chelsea kept 5 clean sheets this season.
