Thierry Henry’s legendary football career has been formally recognised as the former Arsenal and France forward received the 2025 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award.
The honour celebrates decades of excellence, influence, and unforgettable moments from one of football’s greatest icons.
Henry is widely regarded as one of the finest players to ever grace the Premier League. His speed, intelligence, and finishing made him a nightmare for defenders and a fan favourite at the Emirates and Highbury.
On the international stage, Henry enjoyed remarkable success with France. He was part of the squad that won the 1998 FIFA World Cup on home soil and later helped France lift the UEFA European Championship in 2000.
At club level, Henry won two Premier League titles with Arsenal, including the famous Invincibles season, and lifted three FA Cups during his time in England.
The BBC Sports Personality Lifetime Achievement Award recognises not only Henry’s trophies and goals but also his lasting impact on the game.
From inspiring a generation of players to remaining a respected voice in football after retirement, his influence continues to be felt.
This award serves as a fitting celebration of a career that shaped an era and set new standards of greatness.
