“This may be the best time to face Real Madrid” – Eibar Midfielder Bullish

‘Los Blancos’ academy graduate Adrián González can’t wait for Real Madrid’s visit to Ipurúa.

“It’s true that they’re not having the best of times and they’ll know how tough it is to play here, all the more so this year when we’re doing so well. This may be the best time to face them because things aren’t quite panning out the way they’d like”, the Eibar midfielder remarked.

The 27-year-old spoke bullishly about his side’s chances, stressing that they have “a lot” to offer in Sunday’s encounter and head into the game in “fine shape”. “It’s tricky for anyone to play at Ipurúa and on top of that we’re in really high spirits. We believe that we’re going about things the right way and are confident we can get a good result”, he said.

González, the son of Real Madrid legend Míchel, also admitted that the match will be extra “special” for him personally, noting that his time in the Bernabéu youth ranks shaped him “as a player and a person”.
