Thunder beaten, Grizzlies edge past Rockets as Cavs bounce back
Russell Westbrook had another triple-double in an Oklahoma City Thunder loss, while the Cleveland Cavaliers ended their brief skid.
Despite his 56th career triple-double, Westbrook had his struggles as the Thunder went down to the Minnesota Timberwolves 96-86.
The Cavs rebounded from back-to-back losses, easing to a 120-108 win against the Sacramento Kings.
Meanwhile, James Harden’s Houston Rockets were beaten.
WILD WESTBROOK
Westbrook scored 21 points with 12 assists and 11 rebounds for the Thunder.
Unfortunately for Oklahoma City, Westbrook shot just seven-of-23 from the floor and turned the ball over 10 times.
Karl-Anthony Towns starred for the Timberwolves with a double-double of 29 points and 17 rebounds.
CAVS BOUNCE BACK
The Cavs needed a win and their big three stepped up.
Kyrie Irving had 26 points as LeBron James (16 points and 15 assists) and Kevin Love (15 points and 18 rebounds) had double-doubles.
Rudy Gay (23 points and 10 rebounds) and DeMarcus Cousins (26 points and 11 assists) led the Kings.
GRIZZLIES RALLY
The Memphis Grizzlies edged past the Rockets 110-105.
Tony Allen had a team-high 22 points and Zach Randolph (16 points and 12 rebounds) impressed off the bench.
Harden ended up with 27 points for the Rockets.

NETS LOSE AGAIN
The Brooklyn Nets slumped to a ninth straight loss, going down to the Toronto Raptors 132-113.
The Philadelphia 76ers overcame the Charlotte Hornets 102-93, the Boston Celtics edged the Atlanta Hawks 103-101 and the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Miami Heat 116-108.
The Orlando Magic had a 115-109 win over the Portland Trail Blazers and the Utah Jazz thrashed the Detroit Pistons 110-77.
LA TEAMS MEET
A game featuring the city’s two NBA teams should give Los Angeles something to distract it, albeit briefly, from the news of gaining a second NFL team. The Clippers (27-14) look like a title-contending team with Chris Paul back in the lineup. The Lakers (15-28) are struggling on defense after losing by 40 points on Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs.
