Nigeria’s record-breaking athlete, Tobi Amusan, is set to kick off her bid for a fourth Diamond League title in China next year.
The Wanda Diamond League has unveiled the schedule for the 2024 season, detailing which events will take place at various meetings throughout the year.
The upcoming season will witness elite athletes from around the world participating in 15 meetings across four continents.
The action is scheduled to begin in Xiamen, China, on April 20, featuring key events like the men’s 100m, women’s 200m, and both the 100m and 110m hurdles.
Tobi Amusan, renowned for her world-record-breaking performances, particularly in the 100m hurdles, will look to extend her dominance in this discipline.
Amusan made history in September 2023 by securing her third consecutive Diamond League 100m hurdles title, joining the ranks of legendary athletes like Dawn Harper.
In the 2022 edition, she set a blistering time of 12.29 seconds in Zurich.
The 2024 Diamond League season comprises 14 series meetings, each hosting a minimum of 14 Diamond disciplines.
Notably, two changes in locations have been made due to stadium renovations, with the Rabat meet moving to Marrakech and the Shanghai meet relocating to Suzhou.
The season promises intense competition and thrilling performances as athletes vie for top honors in their respective events.
