Tobi Amusan wins Silver at World Athletics Ultimate Championship
Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has won silver in the women’s 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest.
Amusan clocked 12.34 seconds to finish second behind American Olympic champion Masai Russell, who took gold in 12.22 seconds.
The Nigerian hurdler takes home $75,000 for her runner-up finish.
Russell has enjoyed a remarkable 2026 season too. She broke Amusan’s world record with 12.09 seconds in Zurich last month. Amusan responded in that race by running 12.23 seconds, the second-fastest time in the world this year at the time.
For Amusan, the silver adds another global medal to an already decorated career and gives Nigeria another podium finish on the world stage.
