Tobi Amusan Wins Silver Medal In World Athletics Championship 100m Hurdles

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has won the silver medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships, her first podium finish since becoming world champion in 2022.

The world record holder ran 12.28 seconds to take second place behind Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who won gold in a new national record of 12.24 seconds. Grace Stark of the United States finished third in 12.34 seconds, while her teammate Masai Russell came fourth in 12.44 seconds.

Amusan had impressed earlier in the competition, winning her heat in 12.53 seconds and then claiming victory in the semifinals with 12.36 seconds (-0.2).

In the final, she faced a strong line-up that included Grace Stark and Masai Russell of the USA, Jamaica’s Danielle Williams, Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, Nadine Visser of the Netherlands, Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas, and Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska.
