Tobi Amusan’s return date revealed following Paris 2024 Olympics disappointment
Nigeria’s hurdling queen, Tobi Amusan, has announced her possible return date following her disappointment at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles faced an unexpected exit in the semifinals, finishing third and missing out on a major championship final for the first time since 2018.
Despite her setback, Amusan is set to make a comeback at the Silesia Diamond League on August 25. This event will see her compete against a formidable field of athletes aiming to earn maximum points for the Diamond League final.
Her return follows the Lausanne Diamond League on August 22, where she will not participate. However, a strong lineup, including Paris Olympic finalists such as Cyrena Samba-Mayela, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Ackera Nugent, Grace Stark, Nadine Visser, and Alaysha Johnson, will be competing.
Amusan has remained silent online since her Olympic disappointment but is determined to overcome her recent setbacks. As the defending champion, she aims to secure a top-four finish in Silesia to remain in contention for the Diamond League final in Brussels.
The 27-year-old is on a quest to win her fourth consecutive Diamond League title, which would solidify her dominance and mark her as the only female hurdler to achieve such a feat.
Her return is highly anticipated, and fans are eager to see if she can reclaim her form and continue her impressive streak in the Diamond League.
