Tolu Arokodare Nears Ajax Loan Move from Wolves
Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare is close to joining Dutch giants Ajax after the club reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers over a season-long loan deal.
Ajax will pay a £1 million loan fee and cover the 25-year-old’s wages for the entire 2026/27 season. The Dutch club will also have the option to sign him permanently for £17 million, with additional bonus payments included in the agreement.
As part of the deal, Wolves will receive an extra £500,000 if Ajax qualify for European competition.
Arokodare has been expected to leave Wolves throughout the summer after slipping down the club’s pecking order. Both the player and the Premier League side have been eager to complete a move before the transfer window closes.
The Nigerian forward attracted interest from Italian club Fiorentina and Turkish side Trabzonspor, but Ajax have moved ahead of both clubs in the race for his signature.
The transfer is now in its final stages, with Ajax expected to complete the signing in the coming days if there are no last-minute changes.
