Top European clubs target Super Eagles forward Sadiq Umar
Top European clubs are reportedly keen on signing Super Eagles forward Sadiq Umar, who has struggled to make an impact at Real Sociedad.
Sadiq Umar, who joined Real Sociedad from Almeria in the summer of 2022, has found the net only four times in 39 appearances for the Spanish club. The Nigerian international has been linked with a potential move away from the Reale Arena, with several clubs offering him a lifeline.
Reports from the Nigerian media indicate that two Spanish clubs, Valencia and Sevilla, as well as Italian side Bologna, are interested in loaning the former Partizan player.
Although there has been no official statement from either Nigeria’s camp or Real Sociedad, it is widely believed that Umar has been under significant pressure at his current club.
Last season, Sadiq faced major setbacks, including an Achilles tendon injury that kept him out for roughly seven months, limiting him to just 15 starts out of 53 potential matches across all competitions.
As Sadiq Umar seeks more playing time, interest from these European clubs could provide the opportunity he needs to revive his career.
