Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou sets new record with October award win
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has set a new record after winning the English Premier League Manager of the Month for October 2023.
Postecoglou is now the first to be named Premier League Manager of the Month in the first three months of a season.
The Australian who was appointed Spurs boss in the summer won the first two manager of the month awards of the season in August and September.
In October 2023, Spurs had wins against Luton Town, Fulham and Crystal Palace to earn the hat-trick recognition for their manager.
His side have won eight games from 11 and drawn two so far this season, a remarkable start to a side that lost top-scorer Harry Kane in the summer.
In their first defeat of the season, Postecoglou’s men were reduced to nine men in a 4-1 loss vs Chelsea on Monday, a result that dents Postecoglou’s chances of matching Pep Guardiola’s record of four consecutive awards.
Former Celtic boss Postecoglou became the first Australian to take the manager of the month award when he was rewarded for a fast start in August, which continued into September and now October.
