Tragedy for Sevilla as Akor Adams sustains long-term injury

Sevilla FC’s medical team has confirmed that Nigerian forward Akor Adams will be out of action for a long time due to an injury. Adams, who recently joined the Spanish club from Montpellier in France, had only made his debut for Sevilla in a goalless draw against CD Leganes last weekend.

However, disaster struck for the 22-year-old when he picked up an injury during a training session on Thursday. The club’s medical team explained that Adams, along with teammate Sambi Lokonga, both suffered injuries to their right thighs during the session.

The injury is a major blow for Adams, who was hoping to make a strong impact at Sevilla after his move from Montpellier. Reports suggest that the Nigerian forward could be sidelined for anywhere between 4 to 12 months, meaning his season is likely over. This extended period of recovery could also see him miss out on key matches for Sevilla and possibly even international fixtures with Nigeria.

It is a tough start to his time in Spain, as Adams had been looking forward to making his mark in La Liga. The club and supporters will be hoping for a speedy recovery, but it seems the young forward faces a difficult road ahead in his rehabilitation.
