Troost-Ekong helps Watford return to Premier League
Hornets bounce back immediately following relegation last season
Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong was on the pitch as Watford defeated Millwall FC 1-0 to seal their return to the English Premier League next season. Ismaila Sarr’s 11th minute penalty was enough for the Hornets to win 1-0 and confirm their promotion.
Watford are 10 points clear of third-placed Brentford FC with only 3 games left to play in the Championship this season. Watford are in second place behind Norwich City who were also relegated from the English Premier League last season. Watford has Nigerian international striker Isaac Success and former U-20 midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru on its books.
The Hornets will now be looking to win the Championship title as they sit 5 points behind leaders, Norwich City with only 2 games left for both sides.
