Tsitsipas makes Doubles history with the Big Three
Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas has added another unusual milestone to his career, becoming the first player to partner in doubles with each member of tennis’ legendary Big Three.
Over the course of his career, Tsitsipas has teamed up with Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic in doubles matches at major events.
His partnerships with Nadal and Federer both came during the 2019 Laver Cup, where top European players faced off against the rest of the world in the exhibition team competition.
Years later, Tsitsipas has completed the rare trio as he pairs with Djokovic in the ongoing BNP Paribas Open.
The Big Three collectively hold dozens of Grand Slam titles and have shaped the sport’s history with their rivalries and longevity at the top of the rankings.
Interestingly, Tsitsipas also holds another connection to the trio. Earlier in his career, he became the youngest player to record wins against Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic, achieving the feat at just 20 years old.
Now, with this latest doubles partnership, Tsitsipas continues to add interesting chapters to a career that has already featured major titles, deep Grand Slam runs, and memorable victories over some of the greatest players the sport has ever seen.
