Twenty-five NPFL stars called up for Super Eagles friendly against Mexico
Ahmed Musa, Austin Oladapo, Oche Ochowechi all miss out
Super Eagles Technical crew released a list of 25 home-based players to prosecute the July 4th friendly against Mexico in the United States of America. Of the twenty-five, only twenty-two players will travel to America for the game against El Tri.
Anayo Iwuala and John Noble are the only players to keep their places from the squad that took on Cameroon in June. A total of 21 players are receiving their first-ever Super Eagles call-ups in this fixture. Here is the list in full;
Goalkeepers: John Noble (Enyimba), Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Heartland FC).
Defenders: Olisa Ndah (Akwa United), Tebo Franklin (Nasarawa United), Imoh Obot (Enyimba), Adekunle Adeleke (Abia Warriors), Tope Olusesi (Rangers), Ifeanyi Anaemena (Rivers United), Kazie Enyinnaya (Rivers United), Christopher Nwaeze (Kwara United), Muhammed Zulkifilu (Plateau United), Lawal Muritala (Kwara United).
Midfielders: Dayo Ojo (Enyimba), Seth Mayi (Akwa United), Anthony Shimaga (Rangers), Samuel Nnoshiri (Katsina United), Uche Nwasonaya (Plateau United).
Forwards: Anayo Iwuala (Enyimba), Stephen Jude (Kwara United), Charles Atshimene (Akwa United), Ibrahim Olawoyin (Rangers), Auwalu Ali Malam (Kano Pillars), Chinonso Ezekwe (Rangers), Nenrot Emmanuel (Plateau United), AbdulMutalif Sanusi (Katsina United).
The match is expected to take place at the popular Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Super Eagles will be without skipper Ahmed Musa, who also plies his trade in the NPFL with Kano Pillars as well as consistently performing Enyimba duo Austin Oladapo and Cyril Olisema.
