Two African clubs to swap leagues with CAF approval
Two of Africa’s top football clubs, Al Hilal and Al Merriekh, have received clearance from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to participate in the Mauritania League.
Due to the ongoing political unrest in Sudan, the local football league has been on hold for several months, leaving clubs unable to compete.
To maintain their competitive edge, the management of Al Hilal and Al Merriekh sought approval from both CAF and the Mauritania Football Association to join the Mauritania League.
Their request has now been granted, with the Mauritania League officially approving the participation of both Sudanese clubs for the upcoming season.
This move will allow Al Hilal and Al Merriekh to stay active and competitive as they also continue to participate in CAF’s Inter-Club competitions.
