Tyson Fury rejects Usyk’s victory, calls It a “Christmas Gift” from Judges

Tyson Fury has strongly rejected Oleksandr Usyk’s victory, describing it as a “Christmas gift” from the judges. Usyk won by a unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring the fight 116-112 in his favor.

Fury, who believes he won both this fight and their previous one in May, said at the post-fight press conference, “I thought I won that fight. I was the one being aggressive, landing shots to the body and head. Many people, including my promoter Frank Warren, had me winning by at least two rounds.”

Despite the decision, Fury remained determined, saying, “I’ll believe until the day I die that I won that fight. There’s nothing I can do about the judges’ decision. I just fought my heart out.”

When asked by a Ukrainian journalist if Usyk’s victory was inspired by the spirit of his war-torn country, Fury replied, “I didn’t feel any spirit. I think Usyk got a Christmas gift from those judges.”

Fury also joked about the use of Artificial Intelligence to judge the fight, saying, “The AI gave Usyk the win too. Absolutely rubbish! Keep the humans judging, not the computers!”

After the fight, Fury expressed his plans to relax and enjoy Christmas, saying, “I’ve been away for 12 weeks working for this fight. Now I’ll go home and enjoy the holidays.”

His promoter, Frank Warren, was also shocked by the judges’ scorecards, saying, “How did Tyson only get four rounds? It’s impossible. Everyone around me thought he won. Usyk was mostly on the back foot.”

Fury’s future in boxing is now uncertain, but Warren said, “It’s too early to know what happens next. Tyson is very disappointed, and we’ll have to see what he decides.”

Despite his frustration, Fury gave Usyk some credit, saying, “It’s not Oleksandr’s fault. Congratulations to him and his team.” Meanwhile, Usyk praised Fury, calling him a “great fighter” and “great opponent.
