Tyson Fury Retires from Boxing
Former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has announced his retirement from boxing after losing to Ukrainian heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk for the second time in December.
In a short video posted on Instagram, Fury, known as the “Gypsy King,” said: “I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been a blast. I have loved every single minute of it, and I’m going to end with this — Dick Turpin wore a mask!”
The announcement comes just days after British promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that Wembley Stadium had been reserved for a potential fight between Fury and Anthony Joshua.
This is not the first time Fury has retired. The British boxer previously stepped away from the sport in August 2022, giving up his Ring heavyweight title. However, he returned six months later to defeat Derek Chisora.
Fury, a two-time heavyweight world champion, first won the title in 2015 with a memorable victory over Wladimir Klitschko.
