U-17 AFCON: Brilliant Morocco knock Algeria out

Morocco were brilliant enough to earn a 3-0 win over South Africa in the second quater-final of the 2023 U-17 AFCON.

Zakaria Ouazane silenced the home crowd when headed Morocco ahead in the 28th minute.

Ouazane added a second in the 58th minute when he shot into the bottom corner at the Nelson Mandela stadium in Algiers.

By the time Adam Chakir added goal number three in the 86 minute, the result was well beyond doubt. It finished Morocco 3-0 Algeria.

Morocco join Senegal who were 5-0 victors of South Africa in the first quater-final in the semi-final plus a ticket to the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

A revenge for their previous meeting where Morocco bowed 4-2 on penalties to Algeria.

Morocco will now face either Mali or Congo in the semi-final as they push for the title in Algeria.
