U-20 AFCON: We want to be the best – Bosso reveals Flying Eagles target

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles Head Coach Ladan Bosso has declared his team wants to finish as the best at the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations which gets underway in Egypt on Sunday.
Nigeria will face Senegal in it’s first game of the tournament one Bosso is confident his boys can emerge victorious in if everything goes right for them.
Bosso said ” The boys have been motivated. They are in good shape, we have the full support of everyone around us and we’re positive in whatever we do. ”
” We want to be the best and so we have prepared a team that will beat the best. ”
” I have confidence in the team and that we will take our chances [In Egypt]. ”
On Nigeria’s minimum target at the U-20 AFCON which also serves as African qualifiers for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, Bosso added;
” The least target is qualification to the U-20 World Cup, whatever happens after that will be a bonus.”
The 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup will take place in Indonesia later this year and Bosso will be leading Nigeria to the tournament for a second time if the Flying Eagles qualify.
The first time [ In 2007 ], Bosso tutored Flying Eagles team reached the second round in Canada. Brown Ideye and Efe Ambrose were part of that squad and went on to earn numerous Super Eagles appearances for Nigeria.
Dakkada FC Midfielder Daniel Daga, goalkepeer Nathaniel Nwosu and few others have already been tipped to shine for the U-20 Eagles in Egypt.
