Ubong Ekpai Pledges Cash Prize To Akwa Ibom’s Football Team for Every Win in the National Youths Games

In a heartwarming gesture of support for grassroots football, Czech-based Nigerian footballer Ubong Ekpai has pledged to reward the Akwa Ibom State youth football team for every victory they achieve in the National Youths Games.

Ekpai, who himself emerged from grassroots football tournaments, made this commitment in response to a post about the team’s pre-match preparations ahead of their first game against Yobe State on Monday, September 25.

In an exclusive chat with Nsikakabasi Akpan of SportsRation.com, Ekpai stated, “Please tell those boys I have something for them for every game they win.”

This generous pledge has ignited excitement among the young athletes, motivating them to give their all to secure victories for their state and claim the rewards promised by Ubong Ekpai.

The showdown between Akwa Ibom State and Yobe State will take place at the Jay Jay Okocha Stadium, Ogwuashiukwu, with kick-off scheduled for 10 am on Monday.

Despite the challenge of having nine of their squad members screened out, the Akwa Ibom State team, also known as the “Orange Boys,” remains determined to excel and earn the rewards graciously offered by Ubong Ekpai.
