UCL Draw: Chelsea draw champions as Guardiola returns to Germany
Osimhen, Napoli to face AC Milan, Inter Milan drawn against Benfica
In the UCL Draw, holders Real Madrid have been drawn against yet another English side after eliminating Liverpool in the last 16 of the competition. The Spanish side will face Chelsea, who overcame Borussia Dortmund to reach the quarterfinals. Real Madrid and Chelsea have faced each other in the competition in each of the last two seasons, with the English side progressing in 2020-21 and the Spanish side doing same in 2021-22.
On the same side of the UCL draw, English champions Manchester City and their manager Pep Guardiola will face his former side and German champions Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals. Manchester City dumped Germany’s RB Leipzig in the Round of 16, while Bayern Munich overcame PSG. The winner of the tie will face the winner of the Chelsea-Real Madrid tie.
Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen will lead the line for Napoli when they take on Italian rivals AC Milan in their first-ever UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. The Serie A leaders trounced Eintracht Frankfurt in the Last 16 while AC Milan overcame Tottenham Hotspur.
After winning against FC Porto, Inter Milan will now face Portuguese giants Benfica for a place in the semifinals of the Champions League. Benfica overcame Club Brugge over two legs to reach the last eight of the competition.
