UCL: Odey Dedicates Debut Goal To Mother
Nigeria international, Stephen Odey has dedicated his first UEFA Champions League goal against Liverpool on Wednesday to his mum who marked her birthday a day before Odey’s strike in Belgium.
In a tweet on Thursday, Odey expressed delight at scoring despite result not going his team’s way.
“Not the result we wanted but it ended that way. Hoping to get a better result in our next meeting & a goal.💪⚽⚪🔵”, the tweet read
“I will like to dedicate my first @ChampionsLeague goal to my mum who marked her birthday on Tuesday as a birthday gift🎂. Thanks for guiding me in the right path”, Odey concluded.
Odey scored the consolation goal in Genk’s 4-1 loss to Liverpool when he made a swift turn in the box to slot the ball beyond Liverpool’s Alisson Becker.
