UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has learned more about his roots after a DNA test revealed he is 42% Nigerian.

Jones’ DNA Results Show Strong African Ancestry

The test showed Jones has 96% African ancestry, with 42% from Nigeria, 24% from Cameroon, Congo, and Southern Bantu peoples, 18% from Mali, and 5% from Benin and Togo. The remaining 4% is from England, Wales, and Northwestern Europe.

Born in Rochester, New York, to a pastor father, Arthur, and mother, Camille, Jones now resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
