Uyo to host Nigeria Pitch awards as Robert Mizo battles Osimhen and Boniface for strikers crown
Robert Mizo the dynamic striker hailing from Bayelsa, has secured a nomination for the prestigious Nigeria Pitch Awards’ 10th edition, scheduled to be held in Uyo.
The event, which promises to be a grand affair, will see Mizo competing against heavyweights Victor Osimhen of Napoli SC and Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen in the highly contested Striker of the Year category.
Having made a significant impact since his move to Libyan footballing giants Al Ahly Benghazi from Bayelsa United in January, Mizo’s nomination underscores his prowess and influence on the pitch.
The nominees for the 18 award categories have been unveiled, with the winners set to be announced at the Ibom Meridien on the evening of Saturday, 8th June. Among the categories are Goalkeeper of the Year, Defender of the Year, Midfielder of the Year, Striker of the Year, Queen of the Pitch, King of the Pitch, Sam Okwaraji Award, Football Pitch, Football-Friendly Governor, Corporate Sponsor, and various honors for media representatives.
The inclusion of Mizo alongside top talents like Osimhen and Boniface highlights his remarkable contributions to the sport and further solidifies his position as one of Nigeria’s rising football stars.
