Uzoho struggles, Iwobi sent off as Nigeria draw with Jordan

Nigeria’s Super Eagles played a 2-2 draw with Jordan in an international friendly in Turkey on Tuesday night, but the match exposed several weaknesses in the team.
Despite controlling large parts of the game, Nigeria failed to secure a win and remain without victory against the Middle Eastern side.
Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho had a difficult outing and was widely criticised for his performance. He looked unsure and made a costly mistake for Jordan’s opening goal, turning a simple save into a problem for his team.
At the back, Igoh Ogbu struggled to organise the defence, while Emmanuel Fernandez had a mixed performance. Fernandez scored Nigeria’s second goal but was not convincing defensively.
Right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel delivered a steady display and provided the assist for Fernandez’s goal. On the left, Zaidu Sanusi had an average game, supporting both defence and attack.
In midfield, Raphael Onyedika and Frank Onyeka helped Nigeria dominate play for long periods, although their influence faded later in the match.
In attack, Moses Simon stood out with a strong performance, scoring Nigeria’s first goal and posing a constant threat. Ademola Lookman showed flashes of quality but lacked end product, while Akor Adams worked hard but created few chances.
Substitute Alex Iwobi endured a disappointing outing. He was sent off shortly after coming on following a poor reaction, which left Nigeria with ten men and weakened their control of the game.
Captain Wilfred Ndidi also struggled to steady the team after coming on, as Jordan pushed forward and scored a late equaliser.
The result highlights ongoing concerns for the Super Eagles, especially in goalkeeping and game management, despite their attacking promise.
