Verstappen breaks Mercedes 2020 dominance to win the 70th Anniversary GP
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has become the first driver not from Mercedes to win a race in 2020 after claiming the 70th Anniversary GP at the Silverstone.
The Dutch driver held of competitions from the Mercedes pairing of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas finish top at the fifth race of the season.
Lewis Hamilton finished second on the podium and Valtteri Bottas, for Lewis it was his 155th podium finishes matching the record set by Michael Schumacher.
While Michael Schumacher achieved the 155 podium finishes in 237 races Lewis Hamilton achieved his 155 podium finishes within 228 races.
After five races Hamilton remains top of the drivers championship after wins in three of the five races (Austria Styria GP), Max Verstappen the winner of the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix jumped to third while Valtteri Bottas who won the season opening race down to 3rd.
