Victo Osimhen to Manchester United: See latest update

Manchester United’s hopes of signing Victor Osimhen this summer may be fading after journalist David Ornstein suggested the Napoli striker could be heading elsewhere.

Osimhen has been a top target for United, with the Nigerian reportedly open to a move to Old Trafford, even if Erik ten Hag’s side fail to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Napoli Set Asking Price for Osimhen

Napoli are expected to sell Osimhen at the end of the season and have placed a price tag of €70 million on the striker following his impressive loan spell at Galatasaray, where he has scored 20 goals in 22 league games.

However, United could struggle to meet both the transfer fee and Osimhen’s high wage demands, which are believed to be over €200,000 per week. Despite interest from other Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal, the financial package required to sign him may prove too expensive.

Saudi Arabia Move Looking More Likely?

According to Ornstein, Osimhen could end up in the Saudi Pro League, where clubs can afford his wages.

“There seems to be a consensus among Premier League clubs that Osimhen’s most likely destination is Saudi Arabia,” Ornstein wrote in The Athletic. “Part of that will be down to the affordability of his wages. But let’s see.”

United Exploring Cheaper Options

While Osimhen would be an ideal signing for United, the club is working within financial restrictions and may look for more affordable alternatives. Players such as Hugo Ekitike, Viktor Gyokeres, and Benjamin Sesko have been linked with the Red Devils, though those deals could also be difficult to complete.

Former Manchester City youngster Liam Delap, who has an €50 million release clause at Ipswich Town, is reportedly on United’s radar, while Lille’s Jonathan David, who will become a free agent this summer, is another option.

Osimhen remains one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, but his next destination remains uncertain. Whether he moves to England or Saudi Arabia, his future will be one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer.
