Victor Boniface close to Bayer Leverkusen move
Super Eagles hopeful set to play under Xabi Alonso
Super Eagles hopeful Victor Boniface is on the verge of completing a move away from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise to join German Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
Nigerian forward Boniface enjoyed a hugely successful 2022-23 season with Belgian outfit USG, in which he emerged as the highest goalscorer and was named in the Team of the Season for the UEFA Europa League as his side fell in the quarterfinals to Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface impressed in the tie against Bayer, scoring once in the first leg and catching the eye of manager Xabi Alonso. The 22-year-old had 22 goals and 12 assists in 55 appearances for his Belgian side and is set to join Bayer Leverkusen.
The forward has agreed personal terms with the club and is waiting for an agreement to be finalised between both parties over his move, which will cost over £18m this summer according to Fabrizio Romano.
