Victor Hugo Santana Carvalho joins Barcelona from Palmeiras
Through an official statement on their site, FC Barcelona have confirmed that they have secured the services of Victor Hugo Santana Carvalho, known as Vitinho, for Barça B on loan from Palmeiras until 30 June 2018 with the option to make the move permanent.
Vitinho, who was born in Sao Paulo on 4 March 1998, signed his contract on Tuesday in the presence of the Director responsible for the Professional Academy Football, Silvio Elias, and the head of sports management in the football area, Josep Segura.
As stated on Barca’s official website, the Brazilian player will join the Ernesto Valverde’s team’s preseason training on Wednesday.
“I am very happy. I have always been a big Barça fan as it is the best club in the world. I will now be able to play at the Club where Rivaldo, Ronaldinho played and my idol Neymar plays.” Vitinho stated after completing his move.
“In 2014, I came to Catalonia to for the MIC tournament with the Brazilian national team and I was able to visit the Camp Nou. When I saw it, the first thing I thought was I would like to play at such an impressive stadium.
Now I will give my all to hopefully achieve this dream one day and make my first team debut.” He added.
